How Can a Sore Painful Bump On The Cheek be Treated?

I dropped a heavy shampoo bottle on my face, the cheek bone to be exact under my left eye, while in the shower 2 days ago. It hurt pretty bad and it has been tender and slightly sore ever since. I dont have any discoloration but i do have a small lump on my cheek bone under my left eye. Will this swelling go down? What should I do?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The lump as mentioned in your post is caused due to the accumulation of fluid and blood (haematoma) following the impact with a shampoo bottle.

Symptomatic relief can be obtained by application of ice and analgesic gel, intake of analgesics like Diclofenac + Serratiopeptidase (to be taken after food) and Pantoprazole (to be taken 30 minutes before meals).

There is no need to worry, the swelling will go down. Till then, maintain adequate hydration & nutrition status, take proper rest and avoid stress.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
